There are currently opportunities in the Reserve Bank-s International Department, part of the Financial Markets Grouphe International Department provides regular advice to the Governors e Reserve Bank Board on monetary policy at foreign central banks velopments in international financial marketshe Department is also responsible for the Bank-s involvement with a number of major international institutions rums, including the International Monetary Fund IMF oup of 20 G20n addition, the Department conducts the Bank's operations in foreign exchange markets vests its holdings of international reserves, in conjunction with offices in New York ndonp>

Major responsibilities

As a Senior Analyst, you will carry out analysis velop subject matter expertise on issues that relate to foreign central banks, international financial markets international institutionshis work span advanced economies, emerging economies especially in Asia, foreign exchange markets, wide-ranging issues being considered in relevant international forumsp>

Regular work includes:

Monitoring developments eparing briefing material on a regular basis, including papers for the senior executive serve Bank Boardou will be challenged to stay on top of a wide scope of rapidly evolving issues
Conducting longer-term analysis of questions relating to your area of international expertise, nking this to the policy context in Australia
Presenting analysis rticipating in discussions at department meetings, providing evidence-based advice while bringing your own perspective to important issues
Contributing to the Bank's Statement on Monetary Policy, helping to prepare speeches, blishing analysis in the Reserve Bank Bulletin

Successful ctes would be expected to rotate to other roles within or outside of the Department over timeome travel be required in futurep>

Experience that would be valued includes:

Relevant analytical experience with previous involvement in, or proven aptitude for, research, analytical or policy work

An ability to work towards tight deadlines
A working knowledge of financial markets or international economies will be highly regarded
An honor's or post-graduate degree in economics, finance or a related discipline will be highly regarded
Experience manipulating alysing data using Excel or other statistical packages, motivated to develop your skills further in this area
