JOB DESCRIPTION

Our Client, a NSW Government Agency is currently looking to fill a position of Regional Project Officer in Dubbo.

Reporting to the Project Manager, Home Ownership and working collaboratively with the AHO Regional Team, this position will provide a regional lead in promoting and coordinating home ownership opportunities with Aboriginal people seeking to enter home ownership.

If you are a high performing individual, with a solution focused approach, strong administration skills, have strong stakeholder engagement skills, team oriented with excellent interpersonal and communication skills (orally, written and presentational), with proven background and experience in working effectively at customer and or community level, and be confident ensuring project deliverables are managed effectively please apply.

To be considered for this role, you will have:

Well-developed interpersonal skills and demonstrated ability to work both independently and as a team member;
Demonstrated ability to engage and deliver high quality frontline customer services, with clients and stakeholders at all levels;
Develop and maintain effective consultative and support networks as well as a range of other culturally responsive approaches to planning, customer feedback and service delivery;
Establish and maintain successful partnerships with multiple stakeholders to deliver effective business outcomes;
Strong coordination skills including flexibility:
organisational and prioritising to deliver on multifaceted projects and processes within deadlines;
Demonstrated knowledge and application of project management methodology;
Excellent communication and stakeholder engagement skills;
Providing proactive and evidence-based advice;
Strong administrative and time management skills;
Knowledge or experience in the housing sector, including social housing and barriers for Aboriginal people and families seeking to enter home ownership
Knowledge or experience of the financial lending institutions; and
The role will also require substantial travel and a current driver's licence is needed.

In addition to the above, candidates must also have:

Demonstrated understanding of Aboriginal cultural beliefs, attitudes and of the socio-economic positions of Aboriginal people within Australian society, and of their impacts in relation to housing;
An understanding of the Aboriginal political and historical impacts upon policy developments in NSW and nationally in relation to Aboriginal land rights, and Aboriginal land use;
The position will provide support to the Project Manager, Home Ownership central office role from regional location;
Tertiary qualifications in a related discipline and/or equivalent knowledge, skills and experience in project work.
