The OneSky Australia Project is first of its kind in the world, the high-profile nature of the project garners excitement and innovation. The integration of civilian and military Air Traffic Management Systems (CMATS) through   common   operational   and technical   requirements will improve safety, security, interoperability and sustainment. It will also improve efficiency, capacity and support harmonised Air Traffic Management processes and procedures for collaborative flow management and dynamic flexible use of airspace.

About the Role

The purpose of this role is to lead the Software Configuration Management at the program level, building releasing, automating and configuring changes through a complex program of more than 150 Computer Software Configuration Items (CSCI's) integrated together. The core responsibility is to improve our continuous integration continuous delivery CICD pipeline to establishes and maintain integrity and traceability (as built, to as design) for all software deliverables across their entire life cycle.

The role will be in charge of extending the existing SCM and CICD pipeline with innovative solutions, continuous improvement, and a skilled workforce. This role will interface closely with system engineers, software engineers and integration engineers, across a large spectrum of items (proprietary software, firmware, configurable test benches, simulation, COTS and tools) to enable software configuration management mechanisms. This person will have to identify existing gaps, to propose solutions quickly and to coordinate their developments.

Your will bring to the Role

Significant experience of SCM for large, complex, software-based systems

Strong Experience with CICD methodologies, workflows, configuration management, and the corresponding tools

Strong Experience with Configuration Management tools (Ansible, Puppet)

Deep knowledge in any of the following: change control (ex: Jira), version control (ex: Git, Bitbucket), build and deploy (ex: GitlabCI, Jenkins), asset management (ex: Artifactory), infrastructure as code, automated monitoring and test environment

Scripting and automating administration tasks like Python, Bash, PowerShell

Extensive experience of using UNIX/Linux operating systems,

Strong communication skills, with the ability to manage variety of stakeholders and

customers, and to write clear and concise documents that clearly articulate complex technical details

A tertiary qualification in Engineering, Computer Science or IT

Responsibilities of the Role

initiates or participates in short-range or long-range planning and makes independent decisions on engineering policies and procedures within an overall program

gives technical advice to management and operating departments

may take detailed technical responsibility for product development and provision of specialised engineering systems, facilities and functions

coordinates work programs

directs or advises on use of tools and resources

The ideal candidate will be someone who is passionate about CICD and knows how to maximize efficiency within the software development life to minimize error, enable state of the art change management and control as well as accelerate the pace of integration and delivery to the factory test beds.
