The role

Are you an experienced communications professional with exceptional writing and event coordination skills- This high profile state government department needs you, to help deliver engaging and creative communications aimed at building an inclusive, safe, and positive workplace.t;

Responsibilities

Write, edit and produce high-quality web-based content, presentations, reports, online newsletters and promotional material that is engaging, relevant, innovative and responsive to the needs of diverse stakeholder groups across the CBD, regional and international offices
Provide editorial support for the development and implementation of communications strategies and plans for key content and communications channels, ensuring messaging is consistent
Plan, document and track delivery of key communication activities related to communication campaigns, meeting departmental objectives and client expectations
Deliver high quality in person and web-based events on time and on budget, through strong attention to detail, creativity, collaboration and communication
Create detailed process documents to help streamline operations and drive efficiencies across the team, always looking for continuous improvement opportunities
Be a trusted advisor and provide timely, tactical advice and support to stakeholders, while mitigating potential risks and issues
Procure and manage contractual arrangements with external service suppliers ensuring compliance with department and government procurement and legal guidelines,
value-for-money, effective delivery of services, and that contractual obligations are met

About you

Demonstrated ability to successfully research and write engaging and effective communications for internal audiences, tailoring messages appropriately and meeting departmental style guidelines and strategic objectives
Experience in the successful development, delivery, and evaluation of impactful events and robust communication plans
Demonstrated ability to provide strategic advice and support to stakeholders, while building and maintaining strong relationships with team members across all levels of the department
Experience using a Content Management System to create, manage and update intranet content, including metrics reporting and analysis
Proven ability to plan and prioritise effectively, set goals and high standards of performance, and be accountable for delivering on competing major event and communications expectations
A relevant tertiary degree or industry recognised qualification in event management, communications or public relations would be well regarded
