Parks, Garden and Open Space experience
Cert IV in Horticulture or equivalent

We have the opportunity for an experienced full-time Works Supervisor, based within our Parramatta Park and Western Sydney Parklands Contract.

The Works Supervisor will be responsible for enhancing the efficiency of UMS' services and delivering on Contract requirements through your excellent planning, scheduling, and management skills.

This Works Supervisor is responsible for the following:

Provision of high-level customer service and handling of enquiries from the client, customers, staff, and subcontractors
Create, maintain, and review work schedules
Staff supervision
Ensuring that work is performed is within the scope, timeframe, budget and standards of the contract
Assist with the preparation of quotations and ensure effective implementation of works/projects
When required, hands-on work to assist in service delivery across all contracts
Scheduled and ad hoc inspections of work sites - in Parramatta Park and Western Sydney Parklands
Attend and contribute to monthly client meetings
Train new staff in correct and safe work practices and participate where required in the
resolution of safety issues
Preparation of reports
Implement, use, understand and monitor works scheduling software, (currently Google Sheets, Smart Sheets and Field Aware)
Ensure incidents and near-misses are captured and notified immediately to the manager and recorded in the UMS Safety Software (Mango)

Essential requirements for this role include:

Minimum Cert III preferable Cert IV in Horticulture/Landscape Maintenance/Parks and Gardens/Arboriculture
3 years + proven industry experience and experience in managing employees and contractors
Ability to develop and maintain strong, close relationships with key stakeholders including clients and subcontractors
Excellent customer service focus and interpersonal skills
Exceptional written and verbal communication skills
Ability to lead and motivate teams
High-level attention to detail
Ability to work to strict deadlines
High-level planning and organising skills
Experience with working within budgets
Intermediate skills in Microsoft Office Word and Excel
A strong focus on Safety, Environment and Quality
A current and valid manual Driver's Licence/ preferable MR Licence
