We are currently looking for a hands-on Grounds and Maintenance officer to join our Ridgecrest Retirement Village located in Australia Capital Territory.>

As one of our friendly onsite Grounds and Maintenance Officers, you will be working with our current team and kept on your feet assisting across a variety of predominantly gardening related tasks, along with some maintenance tasks, ensuring the continued comfort, safety and happiness of our village residents.>

This is a role, 38 hours weekly working Monday to Friday, 8am - 4pm in winter and 7am - 3pm in summer.>

Your tasks will include

Maintaining the everyday maintenance and presentation of the village
Maintaining lawns and hedging
Propagate and prune plants
Mulch garden beds according to best as required
Preventative maintenance
Ensuring all communal areas are tidy and well-maintained
Building and maintaining strong relationships with residents and their families, through the delivery of outstanding service
Identifying and reporting any hazards or safety issues
Assisting with ad hoc projects and maintenance related tasks as required

About You

You will be reliable and personable and will make a positive difference to our residents
Ability to work unsupervised and independently
Strong gardening experience
Have come from a background where you had to look after a facility with high standards such as a retirement village or golf club
Ability to prioritise work schedules
Ability to initiative, discretion and judgement in carrying out assigned duties
You will be self-motivated
