Xefco is an Australian- Owned company that creates innovative textile and coating technologies with a vision to create a more sustainable future for the textile industry. Incorporated in 2018, we have a track record of developing novel technologies that have been adopted by some of the world-s leading outdoor apparel and fashion brands.
Xefco has pioneered a novel plasma technology, called Ausora- that provides a sustainable dyeing and finishing solution to eliminate water pollution from textile manufacturing. Ausora- has been developed through a long- Tanding research partnership with Deakin University and is set to bring a disruptive manufacturing solution to the textile industry together a broad range of other potential applications.
- A degree in Textile Engineering, Chemical Engineering, Materials Science, Materials Engineering or related field.
- At least 5 years- experience in research & development management of textiles, textile treatments or related products, with particular knowledge in plasma aided applications for textile dyeing, finishing and coating.
- Detailed knowledge of textile materials, treatments, dyeing processes, and manufacturing processes.
- Thorough understanding of common textile testing methods and performance evaluation.
- Project management experience with proven track record in collaborating with teams and suppliers locally and abroad.
- Experience in driving R&D management of new materials informed by testing data, customer feedback, and production requirements.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills, ability to present innovations to colleagues, customers, and shareholders.

Responsibilities:
- Provide technical leadership in the research and development of novel textile coatings and treatments, developing and executing experiment plans in collaboration with other team members and project partners.
- Managing the set- Up of standardised and customised tests, execute and analyse test data relevant to Xefco projects.
- Manage other team members and project partners to move R&D projects forward and bring outcomes to market.
- Assess the benefits and monitor the costs and effectiveness of research and development projects.
- Assess the ongoing technical, economical, and manufacturing feasibilities of research and development project deliverables and recommending associated product and service development innovations.
- Provide advice on research and development options available to Xefco, and provide development strategies, polices and plans.
- Support patent and publication activities.
- Support customer- Driven new product research and development projects and launch activities.
- Manage, monitor and interpret results of research in the leading- Edge developments in the textile industry and assess implications for Xefco.
- Communicate directly with customers, suppliers, and project partners as required from time to time.
