An exciting opportunity exists for a passionate full time Sous Chef to join the culinary team at the Australian Art Gallery of NSW.
Reporting to the Executive Chef, you will work for a successful, professional and highly regarded hospitality group, The Fresh Collective, who is the hospitality leader in Sydney-s iconic art-s venues, such as the Museum of Contemporary Art, Sydney Theatre Company and The Art Gallery of NSW.
This is a multi- Faceted role, suitable for an experienced chef with great organisational skills, a love of food and the ability to manage a large team.
This role will give the successful candidate an interesting level of variety and creativeness as well as work life balance.
About You
- A motivated chef with a passion for creating excellent dishes
- Hungry to move to the next level, and wanting to be the next Head Chef
- Minimum 3 years' experience in a similar role, from busy restaurant and/or cafe
- Function experience
- Diploma Certified in Commercial Cookery and Food Safety
- Punctual, self- Driven and autonomous, whilst being open to direction and learning
- Excellent attention to detail with a strong work ethic
- Impeccable communication skills
- In possession of a valid Australian working visa - Able to work in a permanent full- Time capacity
Responsibilities:
- Utilise your creativity in preparing exceptionally presented dishes, consistent in flavour and appearance
- Working with a large company with multiple restaurants
- Work closely with the Executive Chefs to further your cooking skills and techniques
- Work with the Exec Chef to bring food and staff costs in online
- Motivate and manage the kitchen brigade, ensuring speed of service for restaurant and function service
- Manage the kitchen in the absence of the Exec Chef
- Follow all food safety procedures and legislation
