- Prepare and cook meals, and supervise the preparation of meals by kitchen staff
- Seasoning & portioning a variety of dish and carving and trimming foods to ready them for different dishes.
- Regulating temperatures of ovens, grills, and other cooking equipment
- Lead, guide and inspire the kitchen team to deliver the best results
- Manage kitchen consumables, stock takes, ordering, cost control and budgeting
- Develop, test, and introduce new menu items as per seasonal produce
- Ensuring the workplace is clean and hygiene and always meet the standards
- Compliance with OH&S and Food Safety standards
- Work alongside the management team
- Coordinating and managing the orders of the stock as required
Experience
- Possess excellent relevant post- Econdary hospitality (cooking) qualifications, to at least Diploma level.
- Have 3 years professional experience or more.
- Are available across the working week including weekends and nights.
- Offer proven ability to prioritise, set goals and have the determination to achieve them.
- Possess a thorough understanding of food safety and HACCP.
- Understand cost control, time management, prioritization, and cost- Efficient procurement practices.
- Passion for developing innovative menu items.
- Strict compliance towards food safety
