The Opportunity
We are seeking an EHS Lead to join our growing project Banksia team for the construction of our state-of-the-art cell-culture manufacturing facility in Tullamarine , Australia.xpected to be completed in 2026, this facility will be the only cell-based influenza vaccine manufacturing facility in the Southern Hemisphere and will also produce unique products important to Australia's public health needs such as snake and spider antivenoms.br>
This role is a 4-year fixed term opportunity and is responsible for leading, developing, reviewing and implementing EHS programs for the project to ensure the completed facility achieves excellence in with Environment, Health Safety and Sustainability EHS2 in its design and operation and that project works including construction and fit-out are completed in full compliance with EHS2 regulatory requirements and CSL Standards.r>
The Role
Reporting to Head of Director of EHS, with a dotted line to the Project Delivery Lead, key responsibilities will include

Establish and proactively drive the EHS2 strategy through project life cycle activities including design input and reviews, process hazard analysis reviews eg HAZOP and other risk reviews, EHS2 management for construction works and arrangements for full operational readiness of the completed facility;
Establish and plan effective processes to achieve EHS2 excellence and full regulatory compliance in the facility design and provide leadership and subject matter expertise through design reviews, process hazard analysis and risk review processes;
Develop, plan and implement processes to monitor and report on EHS2 aspects of the project including building strong relationships with the Construction Management Team;
Develop, plan and manage resourcing of project EHS2 requirements to meet project requirements and deadlines, including coordination of specialist EHS2 consultant input over the life of the project as and when required;
Coordinate EHS2 management requirements with the Principal Contractor to ensure CSL requirements are met;
Coordinate, train and support Engineering and Production teams to ensure that Safe Work Method Statements are developed and reviewed for construction and Safe Work Procedures are in place for commissioning and validation tasks;
Ensure an effective Emergency Management Plan and Program is in place where the site is under CSL Control and that Emergency management systems are established and implemented for CSL's occupation of the building.r>


Skills and Experience
The successful candidate must have

6 + years in an EHS role preferably in a Pharmaceutical and/or Chemical Industrial Manufacturing.r>Proven working knowledge of Construction Industry
Past experience in EHS project management, including design and operational readiness
Ability to work in a team setting and among multiple department functions
Demonstrated courage to intervene as needed and appropriate to address safety and environmental concerns;
Demonstrated ability to organize, prioritize, work under pressure and meet deadlines;
Demonstrated ability to promote and ensure implementation of company safety and environmental compliance standards;
Strong working knowledge and abilities with computer programs i. - MS Excel, Word, Access, and PowerPoint;
Excellent verbal and written communication skills, detail-oriented.r>
