Position summary:

Downer Professional Services is currently seeking Data Manager(s) for roles within the CASG environment

The Project Data Manager is responsible for performing complex project work under board direction and work with reasonable autonomy to achieve business outcomes. Working with stakeholders they are actively involved in the resolution of issues and relationship development.

Key Responsibilities

Single point accountability for the systems interface of the PMO and the Navy
Manage various data platforms (Sharepoint and Objective)
Use business systems to extrapolate and prepare data for reports, submissions and meetings
Support the leadership team in the development of data strategies
Identify and develop improvement opportunities for data management
Perform independent research work and analysis including the preparation of draft reports on relevant program activities and/or project milestones
Manage and deliver projects. Develop and manage project plans, including evaluation reporting. Manage financial reporting and analysis activities
Develop, implement and monitor budget controls and strategies
Manage program/project through to implementation
under direction of the team leader
Anticipate and respond to stakeholder needs and expectations
Coach or lead a team, establishing and monitoring work priorities and workflow
Interpret policies and apply procedures within the project

Key Selection Criteria

Monitor project performance against agreed plans. Develop strategies to achieve project outcomes.
Ability to actively maintain stakeholder relationships, communicating with influence
Takes responsibility for managing project activities including support to strategic planning, governance functions and human resource management.
Demonstrated ability to build professional expertise and share learning to support team members.
Experience in supervising and motivating a high performing team

Qualifications and Experience

Bachelor’s degree in science or engineering
Technical writing skills with the ability to adapt communications to suit the target audience
Several years’ experience in a Data Management environment
Defence Force experience highly regarded
Sound communication skills with the demonstrated ability to work with internal and external stakeholders

Significant experience in data management roles, including quality assurance, risk management, and document control.
Experience working in a high performing project team.
Experience and understanding of the Defence Capability Life Cycle.
Experience in building trusted & valued relationships with project team members, customers & partners.
