One of our Restaurants, Crento Italian Restaurant, offers a unique dining experience that revolves around the core principles of simplicity, quality and inclusivity. Established in July 2019 by seasoned industry professionals with a wealth of hospitality expertise, becoming a beloved culinary destination on the Northern Beaches. The restaurant's menu is a celebration of Italian culinary tradition, with a focus on classic dishes prepared using authentic techniques and fresh, locally sourced ingredients. From hearty pastas and wood- Fired pizzas to succulent mains and vibrant salads, there is something for everyone at Crento.
Job Description:
We are currently seeking an experienced Chef to join our team and lead the planning and organisation of food preparation and cooking at our restaurant. As a key member of our culinary team, you will play a vital role in upholding our standards of excellence whilst bringing creativity and passion to our menu offerings.
Qualifications:
- Certificate IV in Commercial Cookery
- At least 2 years of experience as a Chef
- Strong culinary skills and a passion for Italian cooking traditions

Responsibilities:
- Develop menus that showcase Italian culinary traditions and cater for diverse dietary preferences and requirements.
- Estimate food, labour and overhead costs and assign prices to menu items.
- Monitor inventory levels and ensure correct stock rotation procedures are followed.
- Plan orders of equipment or ingredients according to identified shortages.
- Collaborate with suppliers to source high- Quality ingredients that meet the restaurant's standards.
- Monitor the quality of dishes during food preparation to ensure consistency and adherence to recipes and presentation standards.
- Communicate with the Manager and wait and kitchen staff to address food preparation issues and operational needs.
- Ensure that kitchen maintenance problems are promptly reported.
- Lead by example in the kitchen by demonstrating different techniques of cooking various Italian dishes and advise kitchen staff on proper procedures.
- Prepare and cook menu items, ensuring they meet the restaurant's quality standards.
- Adjust recipes and cooking techniques as needed to accommodate special dietary requirements or guest preferences.
- Interview, hire and train new kitchen staff.
- Enforce hygiene regulations and ensure compliance with food safety standards at all times.

 
Benefits:
Salary Offer: $70,000 - $90,000
