- Examining the companys income and expenditure to identify major variances with the forecasts and monitoring the operating costs
- Providing financial advice on business structures and operations
- Overseeing the accounts payable/receivable process & company Payroll management
- Preparing weekly, monthly and annual financial reports for the company
- Monitoring and appraising of daily cash flow
- Preparing and managing statutory reporting and tax compliance tasks, including quarterly BAS, monthly IAS, Yearly Tax Returns, payroll tax, other returns as required by relevant statutory bodies
- Utilizing and maintaining an accounting system and advice on the application of a computer- Ased accounting system (Cashflow)
- Assessing and implementing business expanding and financial processes
- Maintaining internal control systems and identifying any lapses in the current internal control environment, and proposing feasible solutions to mitigate control risks
- Preparing schedules and reconciliation of balance sheet items, clients, and subcontractors' accounts to ensure the accuracy of the information
- Formulating, preparing, and managing accurate budgets & forecasts and monitoring the budgeted financials against the actuals to identify major variances and report to the director
- Analysis of the manufacturing costs of company products and recommending accurate profit margins and pricing strategies to make sure the products are not under/overpriced
- Conducting financial appraisals on clients proposed projects to evaluate the financial feasibility and providing recommendations
- Ensuring integrity and accuracy of inputs and financial data and ensuring they meet statutory requirements
- Conducting financial appraisals through cash flow forecasts on proposed capital projects to evaluate the financial feasibility and providing recommendations to the director
Skills and Experience Required:
- Minimum bachelors degree or related degree in accounting is essential
- Minimum 2 years experience in a similar role is mandatory
- Broad understanding of business processes and key drivers
- Experience with Cashflow and proficiency in MS Excel is an advantage
- Experience in working as an accountant in the manufacturing sector with product costing knowledge
- Small/Medium organization accounting and tax compliance knowledge is an advantage
- Highly developed problem- Olving and decision- Making skills
- High attention to detail and ability to work under pressure
